About

I’m a UX leader, design thinker, information architect,
experience strategist & generally curious introvert.

Thanks for popping by. I’m Gia Romano, a User Experience Lead & Director with over 18 years of experience in human centred design. I’m a creative tech geek at heart, using this combination of passions to help companies research, craft and build world class experiences for their internal, B2B and/or B2C customers. I’ve worked across e-commerce, telco, agency, software and recently, more specifically, building experiences to inform subsurface modelling via 3d & AI within the B2B space.

UX Leader

I lead with empathy and enthusiasm. I oversee remote teams of user interface designers and ux research and designers, providing individual performance management building a practice that attracts & retains talent.

Design Thinker

Uncovering big ideas gets me super excited. I’m really good at bringing together cross-disciplinary teams to collaboratively solve problems, and have extensive experience planning and facilitating workshops.

Experience Strategist

I thrive on the process. Meticulous by nature and a ux designer by trade, I thrive leading every stage of the strategic design process, from research and ideation through to iteration and optimisation.

Curious Introvert

Humans are the best. I don’t design for users, I design for emotional, intelligent and complex humans. A curious observer with empathy as my superpower, I cultivate it in my strategy, design and leadership practices.

I focus on achieving measurable outcomes, ensuring that the majority of work positively impacts both business and customer. I help product teams pragmatically realise their product and design strategy, personally going through the end to end UX process. I also have experience in building, supporting and elevating design/research teams to do so, with high autonomy and bringing their whole happy selves to work. In addition, I look inwards and always look for possible personal & team improvements, with new tools, processes and design/research ops.
